High Performance Coach
Gregory Cox
Greg is a WRD alum, beginning his diving journey at age 13. He became a junior and senior national level diver who accepted a scholarship to Florida Atlantic University, a division 1 school. Post graduation, he worked for some South Florida newspaper publications where he reported on breaking crime stories, the 2016 election, and even some pet fashion shows.
His love for diving remained so he immersed himself back into coaching when he returned to Canada. He worked for two years as the head coach at Fraser Valley Diving where multiple divers qualified for junior nationals for the first time. He took a coaching position at WRD in the fall of 2022 where he has continued to take athletes to the national level.
As a father and former elite level athlete, Greg brings forward a holistic belief that diving is more than just a sport. Who you are in practice carries to who you will be in the world beyond the pool. He fosters an environment that promotes growth within both the athlete and the entire team.
